Indian Coin Silver Pendant

IndianSilver2024

This gorgeous silver pendant from India is likely from the early-to-mid 20th century and likely made of melted down silver coins (which are ~80% silver).  The front of the pendant has a lovely etched design and the sides have a cool pattern that looks a little like gears stacked on top of each other.

It weighs a hefly 85.2 grams, suggesting that it is solid silver (or nearly so).  The pendant measures 2 inches wide by 2.75 inches high and is about half an inch thick.  There are loops on the top and bottom, along with two dangles, one on each side, that swing freely.

Note:  photographing antique silver can sometimes be challenging!  The pendant is a little darker than it appears in the pictures, but not as dark as it looks sitting in my hand!
