Beautiful antique coin silver pendant from Yemen, likely made by Jewish silver smiths in the mid-20th century. The decoations are little silver balls soldered onto the design. The piece is likely 80% silver, consistent with silver coins that formed the basis for most of these silver pieces. Most likely there is a piece of scripture or other amulet inside the box (which does not open). The bails were soldered on beautifully (and very securely).
Pendant weights 28.0 grams and measures 50 mm x 50 mm x 12 mm thick. Pendent has obviously seen some wear, but is still in relatively good shape for a piece that was likely actively used as jewelry during its lifetime.
